“I have been deejaying since the age of 6”

VJ Ice, (real name Anthony Malisawa) says he has been Djaying since he was 6 years old.
“I have been a disc jockey since I was 6 years old. I love records. So, making hit records come out for people to dance been a good feeling ever since that time. So I dee Jayed for my primary school parties to secondary and to college.

The VJ went professional in 2007 when he started performing at Teen Time at Chez in Blantyre.
And as being a VJ for him came about after he bought a camera for photos in 2011 which also could take videos.

“I was obsessed with videos from a very young age. I grew up watching music videos. The camera satisfied my need to mix videos.

“Since then Veejaying has always been my first passion compared to deejaying. Those that know me from way back know that I used to mix videos burn them and sell them. This was from around 2007 to about 2011,” said the soft-spoken VJ.

The VJ says he has a girlfriend and she understands his nature of work.

”She feels the same way any woman would. Same way if you work 30 days at the office with hot colleagues. It is a matter of who you are that makes affects your decisions. Any working environment is not safe if you are not trustworthy,” he said.

VJ Ice was awarded has 2015 best video of the year, 2017 best video, 2018 best video and in 2018 the video he directed, Jaiva which was performed by hazel Mac won Afrima award. He has deejayed for Cassper Nyovest’s opening set at ovation food festival, deejayed after Major Lazer at Lake of Stars main stage now he says he is yet to perform at an international festival.
