Sunbird Hangout Music Festival this weekend

By Our Reporter

Summer is here and as usual, it’s the time when the beautiful lake becomes a destination for most people.

Sunbird Hotels have partnered with GWL promotions for a festival dubbed Hangout Music Festival. The festival which will start from 4 to 6 October, will feature notable names in the music industry such as Lulu, Kell Kay, Sangie, Black Missionaries, Purple C and also Zambian artists such as PST and Diggo.

Director of GWL, Levi Msakambewa said the idea is to bring in some new experience and taste in contrast to many festivals that have been there for some time as they only focus on the beach and less activities on the lake.

“Therefore, Hangout music festival plans to introduce yachting activities, for both canoes and motorboats come the year 2020 and beyond. These are short races within the lake covering a distance of 50m for canoes and 200m for the motorboats,” said Msakambewa.

Some of the activities that will support the musical performances include a beauty pageant (Miss Hangout), aerobics and other sporting activities on the beach.

The tickets for the festival have been pegged at K8,000 for advance tickets and K15,000 at the gate.
