There is one thing that stands out about Patience Namadingo, that’s his ingenuity to bring symbolism in his songs to push forth a theme. Ng’weng’we, Namadingo opens with the buzzing sound of a swarm of bees. Seconds into the song Namadingo introduces the reason why he started with the buzz. “Usadzadandaule ukandzamva wapiti, udzalira ngati njuchi”
The song talks about how the young men are always on a rampage of womanizing without realizing that when the lady is fed up she will leave.
However, the song does not balance on both sides it only points out the ills of men. It does not point out the women.
The guitar that rise above the light instruments brings a mellow feeling. However, I find the message repetitive of the same scenario such perhaps it’s because he chose only to talk about men and not about the women as well.
Namadingo released Madando and Vinyo. In my opinion, I feel he forced the idea to make a song to ride on the wave of what was happening. Ingenious! However, there were not as good as this one. He should keep the muse that inspired this one.
I would recommend this song to set a good mood for a chilled Sunday afternoon at home.
